The Civil Protection Agency of Friuli Venezia Giulia region has issued a yellow weather alert for Wednesday, May 27, from noon until 9 p.m., warning of potentially unstable conditions as a high-pressure system weakens and retreats toward the south-west.
According to meteorologists, cooler and more humid northwesterly air currents are expected to move into the region, increasing atmospheric instability during the afternoon hours.
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop first over mountainous areas before spreading across the plains later in the day. Storm activity is considered less likely along the coast, although isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.
Forecasters said some storms could become particularly intense, especially in the pre-Alpine areas and the upper plains, where strong wind gusts may accompany heavy rainfall. Authorities are advising residents to monitor weather updates and exercise caution during outdoor activities.
