Massimiliano Fedriga has emerged as the most popular governor in Italy, according to a new survey conducted by SWG for the Italian news agency ANSA. Fedriga received a 65 percent approval rating, marking a one-point increase compared to 2025 and placing him at the top of the national rankings.
In second place was Alberto Stefani, the president of the Veneto region, with 58 percent approval.
The survey also showed strong support for several southern regional leaders. Roberto Occhiuto ranked third with 53 percent, also up one point from last year. He was followed by Antonio Decaro at 51 percent and Roberto Fico at 47 percent.
The rankings offer a snapshot of public sentiment toward Italy’s regional administrations at a time when local governments continue to play an increasingly visible role in areas ranging from transportation and healthcare to tourism and economic development.
