From March 25 to 29, the city of Pordenone will host the latest edition of Pordenone Docs Fest – Le voci del documentario, an annual event dedicated to documentary cinema and its role in interpreting contemporary life.

Organized by Cinemazero, the festival brings together a selection of international films that explore current global issues — including conflict — often through lesser-known or underrepresented perspectives. Screenings are paired with discussions aimed at encouraging critical reflection and open dialogue.

This year’s program also places emphasis on education, with workshops introducing students and younger audiences to photography and visual storytelling. The initiative reflects a broader effort to engage new generations in understanding the power of images.

Set in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the festival continues to stand out for its blend of cultural programming and community involvement, supported not only by public institutions but also by local businesses.

Rather than focusing on spectacle, Pordenone Docs Fest maintains its identity as a space for thoughtful viewing — where documentaries serve as a starting point for deeper conversation.
