Authorities are warning of possible thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in Friuli Venezia Giulia beginning late Thursday afternoon, particularly in mountainous areas. According to forecasts, the storm activity could extend into the evening and early hours of Friday, reaching the plains and coastal regions.
The Civil Protection Department, in a statement on its official website, noted the potential for strong thunderstorms accompanied by sustained wind gusts. Officials also cautioned that such conditions could lead to localized disruptions, including temporary flooding in smaller waterways and urban drainage systems, minor landslides on slopes, and road closures. High winds may further complicate conditions.
Despite the approaching weather system, relief is expected by Friday. The Regional Meteorological Observatory (Osmer) predicts a return to sunny conditions across the region, though temperatures are expected to be slightly milder, easing the recent humidity.
Authorities are advising residents to remain alert and monitor updates as the situation develops.
