Exhibit Around, an esteemed platform for photography projects, has announced an open call for submissions to its latest endeavor, Urban Animals. This project seeks to capture the intricate relationship between animals and urban environments, offering photographers of all skill levels an unparalleled opportunity to showcase their talent on a global stage.
Participants chosen for the project will see their work featured in a photography book distributed worldwide, a curated exhibition in the historic center of Trieste, and a video documentary including interviews with the selected photographers.
The Urban Animals project will culminate at the 12th edition of Trieste Photo Days, one of Europe’s premier photography festivals, taking place in late October 2025. A special guest—a celebrated international photographer—will join the event, following in the footsteps of past luminaries such as Martin Parr, Alex Webb, and Susan Meiselas.
Rewards for Excellence
The organizers promise an array of enticing incentives for exceptional submissions, including:
- A complimentary three-night stay for two during the festival’s release event.
- A free Masterclass at Trieste Photo Days.
- Exclusive prizes created by Giorgio Celiberti, a distinguished artist featured in the Venice Biennale.
- Feature interviews and widespread publication, both in print and online.
A Global Invitation
Photographers are encouraged to submit either single images or cohesive portfolios by February 28, 2025. “This project invites participants to examine the fascinating ways animals inhabit our urban landscapes,” said the organizers, highlighting the project’s potential to inspire new perspectives on shared spaces.
