Harry’s Piccolo restaurant headed by chef Matteo Metullio received a second Michelin star on 11 March 2021 which has been confirmed this past week, once again proving its position as the classiest restaurant in town.

With an enviable setting on the lovely Piazza dell’Unità and a stellar team, Harry’s Piccolo was bound for success. Having received the first Michelin star in 2018, the stellar restaurant became the pride and joy of Trieste.

When the news of the restaurant and its head chef Metullio receiving the second Michelin star broke out last year, few were surprised.

“I was raised in a working class family for which life was a daily struggle. To get to this point after only a year and a half of working at this restaurant feels amazing. When I heard the news, I broke down crying. It’s a victory I dedicate to my family and the team at Harry’s Piccolo”, said 31-year old Matteo.

Triestino by birth, Metullio moved back to Trieste after working at a stellar restaurant in Alta Badia to “be closer to family”. In the city, he is raising his 3 year old together with his wife Elena.
