A new wellness center for babies and their parents is expected to open in Trieste by the end of November, offering swimming sessions and specialized support from midwives, psychologists and other professionals.
The facility, located at 18 Via Fabio Severo, will be housed in the new premises of the Melanie Klein Study Center, a nonprofit organization that promotes cultural exchange between the Slovenian and Italian communities.

The project received €250,000 in regional funding, allocated specifically to support the Slovenian community, and was visited on Tuesday by Pierpaolo Roberti, the regional councilor for local autonomy.
Roberti described the initiative as an innovative project for families, saying the regional government had supported it from the outset. Construction is expected to be completed about a year after the funding was granted.
Francesca Simoni, president of the Melanie Klein Study Center, described the new facility as the realization of a long-standing ambition for the organization.
The center currently provides baby swimming activities for about 140 families and supports another 60 mothers during the period immediately after pregnancy. The new premises will allow it to expand those services, with a purpose-built swimming pool and programs including psychological support, prenatal exercise and postnatal rehabilitation.
The project aims to bring swimming activities and family support services together under one roof, providing specialized assistance to parents during pregnancy and the early stages of their children’s lives.
