The city is buzzing with excitement as Barcolana 58 officially enters its biggest weekend, bringing sailors, visitors and residents together for one of the world’s largest sailing regattas.
With Sunday’s main race approaching, downtown Trieste has become a lively gathering place, with crowded cafés, bustling waterfront promenades and a festive atmosphere stretching from Piazza Unità d’Italia to the harbor.
We took a walk through the city center to capture the mood, speaking with people as they celebrated the occasion and prepared for Sunday’s highly anticipated race.
The main event begins at 10:30 a.m. on October 11, when boats of all sizes will gather in the Gulf of Trieste for a spectacle that has become one of the city’s defining traditions.
