A Summer-Like October Draws Visitors to Trieste

With temperatures reaching the mid-20s Celsius on Friday, Oct. 2, Trieste was feeling more like late summer than early autumn. Regional forecasters said temperatures would remain above seasonal averages through the weekend. 

The timing coincides with the opening days of the 58th Barcolana, bringing visitors to Trieste and the wider Friuli Venezia Giulia region. 

We headed into the city center to meet some of the travelers enjoying the unusually warm weather. We asked where they had come from — and what, after arriving in Trieste, they liked most about the city.
