The City of Trieste will introduce temporary traffic and parking restrictions around the Jewish Synagogue to accommodate large crowds expected for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur religious services later this month.
The measures, issued under Municipal Ordinance No. 1011-26, will affect the area surrounding the synagogue at 19 Via San Francesco d’Assisi during two holiday periods.
Dates and times
Restrictions will be in force:
- From 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, until 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026 (Rosh Hashanah)
- From 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, until 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2026 (Yom Kippur)
What will change
A no-parking zone with vehicle removal will apply to:
- Via Guido Zanetti (both sides, entire street)
- Via San Francesco d’Assisi (both sides, between Piazza Virgilio Giotti and No. 17)
- Piazza Virgilio Giotti (entire square)
The ordinance includes exemptions for emergency vehicles, law enforcement, vehicles serving the religious events, and vehicles displaying a valid accessible parking permit.
