The Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government has opened applications for a new funding program to help students cover the costs of master’s degrees and other postgraduate courses, introducing enhanced support for students who are raising children.
Under the new call for applications, eligible students can receive a contribution covering 40 percent of tuition costs, up to a maximum of €3,500, for first- and second-level master’s programs, specialization courses and advanced training programs offered by the region’s higher education institutions.
A key change this year is the introduction of a higher level of assistance for students who are parents of minor children or children with disabilities. Those who meet the eligibility criteria may receive a contribution worth up to twice the standard amount.
The program is open to students with an ISEE household income indicator of up to €35,000 who enroll during 2026 in qualifying postgraduate courses offered by the University of Trieste, University of Udine, Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory of Music and International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA).
The regional government has also introduced new attendance requirements. Students residing in Friuli Venezia Giulia must complete the attendance necessary to obtain their qualification. Non-resident students must attend at least 70 percent of in-person classes when those classes account for at least 60 percent of the program’s total teaching hours.
To qualify for the doubled contribution, applicants must be under the age of 36, reside in Friuli Venezia Giulia, have an ISEE of no more than €35,000, be parents of minor children or children with disabilities, and satisfy the attendance requirements needed to earn their qualification.
Applications for both the tuition support and the additional parental assistance must be submitted to the regional student services agency, ARDIS, through the relevant academic institution. Further information and application materials are available on the agency’s website.
