Authorities in Trieste will introduce temporary traffic and parking restrictions across parts of the city center to accommodate two concerts in Piazza Unità d’Italia later this month.

The measures, announced by the municipality under Ordinance No. 779-26, are linked to performances by Gorillaz on Saturday, July 25, and Eiffel 65 on Sunday, July 26.

From July 20 through July 28, Largo Granatieri and nearby streets, including Via della Muda Vecchia and Via Malcanton, will be subject to no-parking zones, vehicle access restrictions and temporary changes to traffic flow. Access will remain available for residents where possible and for vehicles transporting people with reduced mobility.

Additional restrictions will be in place during the concert days. On July 25, from 1 p.m. until 3 a.m. the following day, and on July 26 from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. on July 27, sections of the city’s waterfront roads (Rive Triestine) will be closed to vehicle traffic between Via di Mercato Vecchio and Piazza Nicolò Tommaseo. The adjacent cycle path and a stretch of the waterfront promenade will also be closed to cyclists, users of electric micromobility devices and pedestrians.

Via San Carlo will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians during the same periods, with parking prohibited.

To accommodate public transportation, a temporary bus stop and terminus will operate on Via del Teatro Romano from July 25 to July 27, replacing the usual stop. Parking will be prohibited in the area reserved for buses.

Illegally parked vehicles within the restricted zones will be towed. Emergency services, law enforcement and vehicles authorized by event organizers will be exempt from the restrictions, while local police may introduce additional traffic measures if required during the events.
