Trieste’s public transport operator has announced a series of changes to urban bus services for Friday, May 1, 2026, when a reduced holiday schedule will be in effect across the city.
The adjustment will result in a simplified network for the day, with several routes suspended and others modified. Lines 7, 12, 17/, 19, 21, 31, 52 and 64 will not operate.
Line 20 will follow a revised route, passing along the provincial road of Farnei and serving Borgo San Sergio in both directions. Selected services on line 27, running from Muggia toward Muggia Vecchia, will be diverted via Lazzaretto and San Floriano. These changes will apply to departures from Muggia at 7:50, 10:15, 12:30, 14:10, 15:10, 17:00, 18:00 and 19:40.
Evening services on lines A, B, C and D will begin at 8:30 p.m. Line A will operate its standard route between Piazza Goldoni, Ferdinandeo and Cattinara, while service between Piazza Goldoni and Viale dei Campi Elisi will be suspended. Line D will run normally between Piazza Goldoni and Via Cumano, with a temporary diversion via the route of line 9 between Piazza Goldoni and Campo Marzio; the return journey will follow the regular path.
Updated timetables for May 1 will be available through the Tpl FVG and Glimble FVG apps, as well as on the operator’s website.
In addition to the holiday schedule, the transport company also confirmed the seasonal reactivation of line 36 beginning the same day. The route connects the Miramare area with the city centre, passing through Barcola, Viale Miramare, the railway station, Piazza Oberdan, Via Carducci, Via Battisti and Largo Tomizza.
Line 36 will operate on Saturdays and holidays until June 6, after which it will become a daily service with the introduction of the summer timetable. Schedules are available online and through regional travel planning tools.
The company has asked for the information to be widely circulated to passengers in order to minimize disruption during the holiday period.
