At the opening of the 58th edition of Vinitaly, Friuli Venezia Giulia presented an expanded and tightly coordinated presence, positioning its wine sector as a driver of both exports and tourism.

Regional officials said the sector’s recent performance reflects structural strength, citing export growth of 8.3% in 2025 compared with a national decline of 3.7%. They also announced a return to the London Wine Fair after 15 years, signaling a renewed push into international markets.

The region’s 1,500-square-meter pavilion in Hall 6 brings together 80 producers under a unified visual identity, with 31 additional wineries adopting the same coordinated branding. The approach is designed to reinforce what officials describe as a single “wine system” linking producers, territory and promotion.

The concept, “Io sono Friuli Venezia Giulia – Connessioni d’eccellenza,” continues a design-led strategy first introduced in 2025 and recognized with a Red Dot Award for communication design. The installation emphasizes sustainability and modularity, intended for reuse at international fairs.

The organic wine section has also expanded, hosting seven wineries alongside an information point and programming with the University of Udine focused on viticulture and enology.

Across the fair, the region is hosting 15 events, including masterclasses, tastings and industry meetings, complemented by local food pairings and networking receptions for buyers and journalists.

In total, Friuli Venezia Giulia’s presence includes more than 80 collective exhibitors, additional independent wineries, and an enoteca featuring about 1,400 labels from 122 companies—underscoring the scale of its ambitions to position itself more firmly on global wine markets.
