The waters of the Gulf of Trieste glistened under clear October skies as hundreds of boats filled the horizon for the 57th edition of Barcolana, the world’s largest sailing regatta. Among the best vantage points for the spectacle was the Delfino Verde, the ferry that links Trieste to nearby coastal towns and, on this day, transformed into a floating gallery for sailing enthusiasts.
Many passengers—locals and tourists alike—clutched cameras and phones, eager to capture the vast sea of white sails stretching toward Slovenia.
