Families in Friuli Venezia Giulia will be able to access school aid more quickly under new rules announced this week by the regional government.
Speaking before the Regional Council’s Sixth Commission, Alessia Rosolen, the regional councillor for education and training, said the administration would advance the timeline for applications for school aid programs. The measures include Dote Scuola (a grant program), subsidies for boarding schools, and contributions for private school attendance. Applications will be open from October 6 through November 20, 2025.
Rosolen said the decision was intended to ensure that families receive funding during the academic year rather than after its conclusion, and to bring regional deadlines into line with national requirements. The council commission gave a favorable opinion on the update to the 2024–26 guidelines for the right to education.
The revised guidelines also clarify eligibility rules. In certain cases — such as when a student has a disability, a parent is widowed, or a mother is in a support program following domestic violence — families will be able to apply for aid without presenting an income certification (ISEE).
The region will also extend the “student psychologist bonus,” first introduced in 2022, through a new agreement with the Regional Agency for the Right to Education (Ardis) and the regional psychologists’ association. Applications for this program will be accepted until November 17, 2025, on the Ardis website.
Other changes are aimed at simplifying procedures for schools. Funds allocated for textbook loans that are not fully used in a given school year will automatically roll over to future years. The same principle will apply to other measures, including Dote Scuola, boarding school and private school contributions, and the student psychologist bonus.
Finally, beginning with the 2026–27 academic year, maximum funding levels will be updated for the purchase of textbooks for students who are blind or visually impaired, following requests from schools.
