Trieste continues to strengthen its role as a hub of international cultural exchange with the presentation of a new artistic initiative titled “Arte e Leggerezza – East Meets West.” The project, which brings together international and local artists, is centered on a permanent exhibition currently being installed in the city.

Curated by Laura Krainz-Leupoldt, a Bavarian contemporary art collector with Triestine roots, the initiative seeks to celebrate Trieste’s historic role as a meeting point of cultures. Positioned at the crossroads of Central and Eastern Europe, the city has long served as a cultural and commercial bridge between East and West.

The exhibition aims to reflect this legacy by combining diverse artistic perspectives and exploring themes of lightness and transnational dialogue. The project underscores Trieste’s growing prominence on the international art scene, while honoring its unique identity as a cosmopolitan city shaped by centuries of exchange.
