The University of Trieste continues to distinguish itself in 2025 as one of Italy’s most dynamic and resilient academic institutions, combining high-quality education, strong international engagement, and promising employment outcomes for its graduates.
These findings emerge from the 27th edition of the AlmaLaurea Report, which assessed the performance of students who graduated in 2024.
Employment Outcomes Above National and Regional Averages
On the employment front, the University of Trieste surpasses both national and regional benchmarks. One year after earning their bachelor’s degrees, 84.8% of graduates who do not continue their studies are employed, compared to the national average of 78.6% and the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional average of 84.6%. Graduates also enjoy higher net monthly salaries, averaging €1,522, outpacing the national average (€1,492) and the regional average (€1,497).
The outlook is even more favorable for master’s degree holders. One year after graduation, 87% of these students find employment, well above the national average of 78.6%. Their average net monthly salary is €1,607, compared to €1,488 nationally. Five years after graduation, employment rises to 93%, surpassing both regional (92.7%) and national (89.7%) levels, while average monthly salaries reach €1,988, higher than the Friuli Venezia Giulia average of €1,923 and the national average of €1,847. Notably, two-year master’s graduates earn an average of €2,014 per month, with single-cycle degree holders earning €1,949.
A Magnet for Students from Across Italy and Beyond
The profile of University of Trieste graduates reflects an institution that attracts talent beyond its local borders. In 2024, 41.5% of graduates came from outside the region, well above the regional average of 33.8% and the national average of 24.5%. International students comprised 4.8% of graduates, exceeding the regional average of 3.6%. This diversity is especially pronounced among two-year master’s programs, where 47.9% of students hail from other regions and 6% from abroad.
Strong Emphasis on Internships and International Experience
The university’s commitment to practical experience is evident in the widespread participation in curricular internships, which are integrated and recognized within study programs. Approximately 62.9% of graduates engaged in internships, slightly above the national average of 61%. Among two-year master’s students, this participation reaches 75.8%, and when including internships undertaken during prior bachelor’s studies, the figure rises to 87.6%.
International mobility also ranks highly, with 13.2% of graduates completing study abroad experiences recognized by their degree programs, surpassing national (10.3%) and regional (12.1%) averages. This rate is consistent across bachelor’s and two-year master’s graduates and climbs to 18.7% when including study abroad during the earlier degree cycle.
High Levels of Student Satisfaction
Student feedback further underscores the quality of the University of Trieste’s academic environment. Nearly 89% of students express overall satisfaction with their university experience. Positive evaluations extend to faculty relations (87%), academic workload (79.6%), and educational facilities (84.7%).
