On Thursday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m., the Revoltella Museum in Trieste will host a guided tour led by Federica Moscolin as part of the national reading campaign Il Maggio dei Libri (“May of Books”). The event will take visitors through two of the museum’s key cultural spaces: the historic library of Pasquale Revoltella and the contemporary art library named after Sergio Molesi.
Organized in collaboration with the Centro per il Libro e la Lettura, the 75-minute tour begins at the museum entrance on Via A. Diaz 27 and is limited to 15 participants. The experience offers a rare opportunity to view valuable antique volumes housed in the 19th-century collection of Baron Revoltella, alongside a curated selection from the Sergio Molesi Art Library that reflects this year’s campaign theme, Intelle(g)o—a nod to the power of reading to shape thought, raise awareness, and foster critical thinking.
Now in its 15th edition, Il Maggio dei Libri aims to promote reading as a vital tool for individual and civic growth. The Revoltella Museum has been a regular participant in the initiative, highlighting the role of libraries in preserving both cultural heritage and contemporary intellectual dialogue.
Participation in the tour is free.
