From Saturday, May 31 to Monday, June 2, Piazza della Borsa in Trieste will host the third edition of “CrafTs,” a curated craft fair celebrating creative and artistic craft skills. The event, supported by the Municipality of Trieste and organized by the provincial branch of Confcommercio, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This year’s edition will feature 23 exhibition booths, representing the majority of the 30-member CrafTs collective. Artisans will showcase a range of handmade goods, offering visitors the opportunity to explore locally produced items that emphasize artistic detail and originality.

The event was officially presented on Wednesday, May 28, during a press conference in Sala Tergeste. Speakers included Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Economic Policy Serena Tonel, Confcommercio Vice President Elena Pellaschiar, and Susanna Coronica, the coordinator of CrafTs.

“With this third edition, we are not only strengthening the June event but also the CrafTs collective as a year-round initiative,” said Tonel. “Thanks to Confcommercio for its support alongside the municipality in promoting an event that highlights artistic craftsmanship. I also thank Susanna Coronica and all participating artisans, whose numbers have grown since previous years. The long holiday weekend around June 2 will serve as a showcase for local craftsmanship, attracting both residents and the many visitors expected in the city.”

CrafTs was launched three years ago with the aim of supporting emerging small businesses and freelance artisans. “The initiative gives visibility to artistic talents whose creations are not only unique but also a testament to skill, creativity, and attention to detail,” said Coronica. “These are products you won’t find in mass-market outlets—they reflect personal expression and the traditions of artisanal excellence.”

The fair coincides with Italy’s Republic Day holiday, drawing both local and international visitors to Trieste’s historic center. Organizers hope the event will continue to grow as a cultural and economic fixture in the city’s annual calendar.
