Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani reiterated Italy’s commitment to supporting the accession of seven Central European countries to the European Union during a meeting at the Central European Initiative (CEI) headquarters in Trieste on Wednesday, 26 March. Representatives from Serbia, Croatia, Romania, and Slovakia attended the discussions.
Tajani emphasized the importance of European negotiations in securing economic stability and business protections, particularly regarding trade policies and tariffs. He also highlighted ongoing talks about a potential Belgrade-Trieste trade corridor to facilitate exports and imports.
“In times of uncertainty, we must navigate carefully and ensure stability,” Tajani said, underscoring Italy’s role in fostering EU enlargement efforts.
