Viral video footage of the episode allowed police to swiftly identify the individual, who could face a fine of up to €600. According to Corriere della Sera, he may also be charged with damage to property—an offense under Italian law that carries a penalty ranging from six months to three years in prison.
The incident took place near Maranello in Italy’s northern Emilia-Romagna region and drew sharp condemnation from both local authorities in Fiorano Modenese and environmental groups. Officials expressed concern over the reckless act, emphasizing the importance of protecting public and private green spaces.
