In a spectacular conclusion to the “United Together” tour, the city will play a pivotal role in marking the 30th anniversary of the European Spirit of Youth Orchestra (Esyo). Co-organized by the Municipality of Trieste, the grand finale concert is set to take place on January 5th at 6:30 PM in the Generali Hall of the Politeama Rossetti. The event will feature the participation of approximately 70 young musicians from various European countries. A photographic exhibition at Palazzo Gopcevich in April will further capture the experiences of Esyo’s talented young musicians through captivating images.

Esyo’s 30th Anniversary Celebration: A Symphony of European Talent

Founded in 1994 by the visionary artistic director, Maestro Igor Coretti Kuret, Esyo has maintained its excellence under his continued leadership. Comprising top young artists from across Europe, the orchestra’s uniqueness lies in its dynamic composition, with members changing annually through a rigorous selection process. The orchestra serves as a platform for high-level training, fostering a strong European identity among its participants.

The 30th-anniversary celebrations kick off with the winter tour, “United Together.” Former young musicians who were part of Esyo between 1994 and 2022 have been invited to join the orchestra once again. Notably, one former member has even booked a flight from Shanghai to Europe, eager to attend the January 5th concert in Trieste with his wife, introducing her to what he considers the most beautiful international symphonic experience of his life.

The “United Together” Tour: Uniting Europe Through Music

The winter tour, “United Together,” spans four concerts: January 2nd in Belgrade, January 3rd in Novi Sad, January 4th in Zagreb, and the grand finale on January 5th in Trieste at the Assicurazioni Generali Hall of the Politeama Rossetti. The tour, supported by the European Parliament and the Italian Embassy in Belgrade, includes intensive rehearsals in Ćuprija, Serbia, hosted by the only school for musical talents in the entire Balkan region. Additionally, the concerts in Belgrade and Novi Sad mark the culmination of the 20-year collaboration between Esyo and the Union of Music and Ballet Schools of Serbia, which began in 2003.

The Rossetti Concert in Trieste: A Symphony for All

Scheduled for January 5th at 6:30 PM in the Generali Hall of the Politeama Rossetti, the Trieste concert is a free event, though reservations for complimentary tickets are required by the end of 2023 through the Rossetti box office. Co-organized by the Municipality of Trieste, the concert is presented by the cultural association “Scuola per giovani musicisti europei,” in collaboration with the Trieste Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Politeama Rossetti. The event is endorsed by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and supported by various sponsors.

Celebrating the 30th anniversary, former young musicians are invited to rejoin the orchestra, and acclaimed writer Paolo Rumiz will share his personal experiences from the five years of collaboration with Esyo.

“Symphonia, il suono dell’Europa” Exhibition at Palazzo Gopcevich

Co-organized by the Municipality of Trieste, the photographic exhibition is set to open on April 12, 2024, at the Attilio Selva Hall of Palazzo Gopcevich. Titled “Symphonia, il suono dell’Europa,” the exhibition will showcase images of Esyo captured by photographers Luigi Ottani and Andrea Semplici during the annual summer tours. The exhibition promises a visual journey into the emotions, harmony, and beauty experienced by young musicians during rehearsals and performances.

Further initiatives, including screenings of documentaries spanning from 1994 to 2023, are in the organizational pipeline.
