In the heart of Udine at Casa Cavazzini House, a multitude of protagonist artists from the last two centuries are brought to life in the telling visual, Insieme (Together). Fifty-five masterpieces converge over ten rooms, into an exquisite narrative that depicts our intrinsic human condition. From the juxtaposed gaze of disconnection to the uniting tethers that draw us closer, Insieme provides the audience with a space to breathe and to dive into life’s deep contemplations.
Encapsulating the increasingly progressive movements of the 19th and 20th century Insieme sequentially revisits the Progressive Era to New Era. The profound subject of these period artists was to provoke the underlying assumptions of concurrent individualism in contrast with reflections of the collective. The exhibition itself undergoes numerous transformations upon life’s journey eluding from birth to death, spiritual connection and what it means to be human. It scratches underneath the surface of methodical egocentrism to the universal question, who are we? And as the title suggests the answer can only be found in relation to the other.
Insieme induces the heartstrings in sensitive and profound ways. The sublime painting techniques from the pre-Raphaelites, invoke emotive accents of romance, beauty, and friendship, whilst the more recent depictions of surrealism, expressionism, symbolism, and abstraction retell western society’s modern representations of unity.
Insieme is thoughtfully curated from start to finish and inspiringly narrated by audio guide. It awakens a life review in one’s own personal journey and implores us to dig deeper to discover our true meaning and purpose. A riveting entourage of paintings by renowned artists like Guttuso, Dali, Kandinsky, Millais and Pistoletto call inside walls of the second level at Cavazzini House. Once there have your heart and mind awakened by the sublime and theatrical display that brings us Insieme.
