A summer program at the National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia is bringing contemporary art and classical archaeology together, with a guided Pop Art experience and an evening concert this week.

On Thursday, Aug. 20, at 5:30 p.m., visitors will be invited to take part in an interactive tour exploring connections between archaeology, contemporary art and everyday life. The program is centered on Contemporaneità Costante, a temporary exhibition that uses works inspired by American and Italian Pop Art to offer new perspectives on the museum’s archaeological collection.

The exhibition, organized by the Syncretika Foundation for Art and Culture in collaboration with the National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia, opened July 10 and will remain on view through Sept. 27. It is curated by Carlo Stragapede and supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government and the Fondazione Aquileia, with the patronage of the municipality of Aquileia.

The interactive visit is included with the museum admission ticket. The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The museum will also host the 10th edition of the Friuli Concertante series, organized by Luisa Sello and the Amici della Musica di Udine. On Friday, Aug. 21, as part of the museum’s final extended summer opening until 11 p.m., the program will feature Campus Music Stars, a concert for violin and ensemble beginning at 8:30 p.m.

The concert will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Eugène Ysaÿe.

Reservations for both events are recommended through the museum at 0431 91016 or museoaquileiaeventi@cultura.gov.it.
