The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has launched a new digital service allowing citizens and businesses to submit requests online for preliminary approval related to vehicle inspections, in cases involving modifications or specialized outfitting.
The service concerns the preventive assessment required before a vehicle undergoes formal inspection and testing, a step typically necessary when vehicles have been structurally altered or adapted for specific uses.
Regional officials described the initiative as part of a broader effort to streamline administrative procedures and expand digital public services. The system is intended to reduce processing times and simplify what has traditionally been a multi-step technical process involving in-person submissions.
The platform, named “Agile” and developed by the regional IT company Insiel, enables users to complete the entire request procedure electronically. Access is available through Italy’s main digital identity systems, including SPID, the electronic identity card (CIE), and the national services card (CNS/CRS).
Cristina Amirante, the regional councillor for infrastructure and territory, said the reform reflects an ongoing modernization strategy within the regional administration. She said the goal is to improve the interaction between public offices and users by providing more efficient and accessible digital tools, while also increasing transparency and reducing administrative burdens.
According to the regional administration, the initiative is part of a wider program aimed at updating services provided by the regional civil motorization offices. Officials emphasized that the digital transition has been made possible through cooperation between technical staff and administrative departments within the infrastructure directorate.
The reform also reflects a broader trend across Italian regional governments to digitize public services and integrate identity verification systems into administrative workflows, in line with national digitalization goals.
