Interviews: Arnaldo Catinari, film director; Valentina Romani in the role of Beatrice, Nicolas Maupas in the role of Giulio, Maurizio Lombardi in the role of Gabriele D’Annunzio, Riccardo Scamarcio in the role of Pietro
On Thursday night, the city’s Cinema Nazionale Multisala became a meeting point for Italian cinema, as Alla Festa della Rivoluzione, the latest film by director Arnaldo Catinari, premiered before an invited audience.
The screening, held on April 16, drew a notable lineup of talent. Catinari was joined by cast members Riccardo Scamarcio, Nicolas Maupas, Valentina Romani and Maurizio Lombardi, who greeted the audience and underscored the film’s collaborative spirit.
Shot across Friuli Venezia Giulia — including Trieste, Udine, Gorizia and the historic star-shaped town of Palmanova — the production places the region at the center of its visual identity. The film was produced by Fulvio and Federica Lucisano for Italian International Film, in collaboration with Rai Cinema, and distributed by 01 Distribution, with support from the Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission.
Though the evening focused less on plot than on presence, the gathering highlighted a broader trend: the region’s growing appeal as a backdrop for Italian filmmaking, where established actors and emerging faces increasingly intersect.
