Trieste ushered in a festive long weekend as the city celebrates its patron saint, San Giusto, this Monday, November 3. The break began with Halloween on Friday, October 31 — a holiday still gaining traction in Italy, though children happily embrace its playful spirit, reminiscent of February’s Carnevale. Streets buzzed with early celebrations and families making plans to enjoy the extended pause. Many locals told us they will spend the weekend outdoors if weather allows, visiting the Carso or strolling along the waterfront, while others plan quiet gatherings at home. For Triestini, it is a welcome moment to recharge and honor tradition.
