Trieste’s civic museums is offering free admission on Monday, November 3, in honor of San Giusto, the city’s patron saint. The initiative invites residents and visitors to explore key cultural institutions typically requiring paid entry, including the Revoltella Museum, the Castle of San Giusto, the Carlo Schmidl Theatre Museum, the Diego de Henriquez War for Peace Museum, and the Natural History Museum.

Visitors to the Castle of San Giusto may also join a guided tour departing at 11:30 a.m., available at a cost of €7 per person.

Other municipal museums — such as the Museum of the Sea and Lloyd Section, the Museum of Oriental Art, the Sartorio Museum, the Winckelmann Museum of Antiquities, the Risiera di San Sabba memorial, the Basovizza Foiba Documentation Center, and the Museum of the Risorgimento and Oberdan Shrine — remain free year-round, along with temporary exhibitions at Magazzino 26.

The initiative does not apply to temporary exhibits not included in standard museum admission, nor to the major exhibition “Tolkien. Uomo, Professore, Autore” at the Salone degli Incanti, which remains ticketed.

Further information about opening hours and collections can be found on the museums’ individual websites and at triestecultura.it.
