A seasonal maritime connection between Trieste and Grado resumed on Thursday morning with the departure of the Nereos ferry from Molo Audace at 8:10 a.m. The vessel arrived at Molo Torpediniere in Grado around 10:00 a.m., completing the journey across the northern Adriatic in approximately 90 minutes.
The ferry service will operate from July 10 through October 12, running from Tuesday to Sunday. Designed to enhance regional connectivity, the route offers a scenic and sustainable alternative to road transport for both locals and visitors traveling between the two coastal towns.
The route is considered one of the most picturesque in Friuli Venezia Giulia, offering passengers a unique travel experience that combines convenience, environmental sustainability, and natural beauty. It is especially popular among beachgoers heading to Grado without facing highway traffic, as well as tourists staying on the island who wish to spend a day in Trieste exploring its historic and cultural landmarks.
Tickets for a one-way trip cost €11.40, while a round-trip ticket is €17.10. Frequent travelers can purchase passes—10 rides for €45.60 or 50 rides for €91.20. Bicycle transport is available for €1 per trip, with a 50-ride bicycle pass priced at €26.80. Holders of the Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG) card are entitled to a free round-trip ticket for one adult and one child under 12, including access to reservation services.
In case of unfavorable weather conditions, the ferry service is replaced by a bus service equipped with bike racks.
