The summer beach season is beginning in Trieste, with nearly all seaside establishments expected to be fully operational by June 1. The only exception is the Sirena beach in Grignano, which remains affected by ongoing construction work nearby and has not yet confirmed its opening date.
Several popular sites, including Bagno Ausonia — recently renovated — and the Caravella Park in Sistiana, are already open to the public. The Pedocin, a historic beach known for its gender-segregated layout, remains accessible year-round and will switch to its summer schedule, opening daily at 7:30 a.m.
Additional openings are planned for the final weekend of May. On Saturday, May 31, the Sticco and Miramare facilities will begin their seasons, offering beach access, sunbathing areas, and dining services. On Sunday, June 1, Le Ginestre in Marina Aurisina will open for the season, with many regular visitors having already secured seasonal subscriptions. The Riviera beach in Grignano, which also serves guests from a nearby hotel, is also scheduled to open that day.
While preparations are largely on schedule, some facilities are completing final maintenance and staffing efforts — a common challenge at the start of the season. Weather conditions in recent days have been variable, but operators remain hopeful for favorable forecasts in the weeks ahead.
