The city has granted the regional motor vehicle authority free use of a section of the wholesale produce market for practical motorcycle license exams, scheduled for weekday afternoons.
The city of Trieste has reached an agreement with the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government to make part of the wholesale produce market available for motorcycle driving tests, providing a dedicated space for candidates seeking a motorcycle license.
Under the agreement, the regional Civil Motorization Service will use the grounds on the side of Via Giulio Cesare, at the Mercato Ortofrutticolo all’Ingrosso, free of charge. The area has been assessed as suitable for the practice course required for motorcycle license examinations.
The tests are expected to take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, outside the market’s main operating hours. The market’s commercial activities will retain priority, and its management may change the schedule or frequency of examinations to accommodate operational needs.
The arrangement was approved by the city government on Aug. 11, according to the announcement.
Serena Tonel, Trieste’s deputy mayor and economic affairs and markets councilor, said the agreement responded to requests from driving schools and prospective license holders for an accessible location to conduct practical examinations.
The agreement brings together the city and the regional government in an effort to make more efficient use of public facilities while maintaining the wholesale market’s operations.
The announcement was presented at City Hall in the presence of Tonel, Gianfranco Compagnon, director of the regional Civil Motorization Service, and other municipal and driving-school representatives.
