The autumn season of LETSpoetry, the literary program curated by Olmo Calzolari, will open on October 2 and 3 with a public conversation and a hands-on poetry workshop led by Italian poet Matteo Tasca.
The two-day event continues the series’ format of pairing discussions with contemporary poets alongside practical writing sessions, inviting both readers and aspiring writers to engage directly with poetry.
On Friday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m., Tasca will appear at the P.A. Quarantotti Gambini Library in the San Giacomo district for a conversation centered on his work, including his 2024 collection Un giorno di festa and more recent unpublished poems.
Tasca, a finalist for the 2025 Premio Laboratorio della Visione, is recognized for a poetic style that blends careful observation with dreamlike narrative, humor and compassion.
Joining the discussion will be poet David Watkins and Riccardo Cepach, director of the LETS Museum, alongside curator Olmo Calzolari. Admission to the event is free, subject to available seating.
The program continues on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Forum Space of the LETS Museum, where Tasca will lead a workshop exploring the literary technique of montage. Participants are encouraged to bring their own written material — from poems and prose to phone notes or personal journals — as the basis for collaborative creative exercises.
