Friuli Doc, one of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s largest food and cultural festivals, will return to the historic center of Udine from Sept. 10 to 13, transforming more than 33,000 square meters of the city into an open-air celebration of regional traditions.
Now in its 32nd edition, the festival will feature more than 100 stands spread across around 30 squares, streets and public spaces, alongside four performance stages, over 40 scheduled events and approximately 150 artists.
The four-day program combines local gastronomy with concerts, exhibitions, cultural events and sporting activities, highlighting the region’s culinary heritage and community traditions.
The festival opens on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with Italian television presenter and travel journalist Licia Colò, who will inaugurate the event in Piazza della Libertà.
Among the featured events are the Premio Eccellenza, an annual award honoring individuals who have promoted the region through their work, an international Sister Cities Meeting, and a photographic exhibition dedicated to the late mountain and sports photographer Simone De Cillia.
The Sports Village will also return for its second year, bringing together about 40 local sports associations for demonstrations and public activities.
Evening entertainment will include performances by Italian musicians Francesco Renga, Fabio Rovazzi and Dargen D’Amico, rounding out a program designed to attract both residents and visitors to Udine’s city center.
