Visitors from around the world filled the streets of Trieste on Saturday morning, underscoring the Adriatic city’s growing international appeal. Among those interviewed were travelers from the United States, many arriving from a cruise ship docked in the city, as well as visitors from Chile, Japan, Palestine, Germany, Spain and several other countries. Drawn by Trieste’s historic waterfront, coffee culture and blend of Central European and Mediterranean influences, tourists described the city as an unexpected highlight of their journeys. The diverse mix of nationalities reflected the city’s reputation as an increasingly popular destination for international travelers.
