The Friuli Venezia Giulia regional government said Thursday it has launched 58 of the 86 funding procedures planned under its 2021–2027 European Regional Development Fund (ERDF/FESR) program, supporting more than 2,400 projects as it unveiled two new grant initiatives focused on the circular economy and cultural regeneration.
Speaking at a regional partnership meeting, Finance Councillor Barbara Zilli said the program has allocated a total of €452 million so far. Of the 2,437 projects that have received funding, 1,389 have already been completed.
The newly announced measures include a €542,500 call for projects aimed at strengthening museums, cultural collections and other public cultural sites in the Torre and Natisone valleys. The funding will support the regeneration and reuse of underused buildings and cultural spaces while encouraging creative and socially inclusive initiatives developed in collaboration with local communities.
A second grant program will provide €3.5 million to micro, small and medium-sized manufacturing companies to support investments in circular economy practices. The initiative is intended to encourage more sustainable production processes and innovation across the region’s industrial sector.
Regional officials said the circular economy measure complements broader policies designed to promote business innovation and sustainability, while the cultural investment forms part of a long-term strategy to strengthen mountain communities by improving public spaces and expanding tourism opportunities.
The regional administration said the new calls continue the implementation of its 2021–2027 ERDF program, which is financed through European Union cohesion funds to support economic development, environmental sustainability and territorial cohesion.
