Residents across Friuli Venezia Giulia are being urged to exercise caution on Wednesday, March 18, as forecasters predict a marked increase in wind across much of the region, with potentially disruptive gusts expected throughout the day.
The regional civil protection agency, Protezione Civile, has issued a yellow-level weather alert for strong winds, signaling conditions that could pose localized risks, particularly in exposed areas.
Meteorologists say the winds will be driven by northeasterly air currents moving through the lower and levels of the atmosphere. Along the plains and coastal areas, winds are expected to range from moderate to sustained, while mountainous and foothill may experience stronger, more variable gusts, at times intensifying.
Authorities have advised residents to remain attentive, particularly when traveling or planning outdoor activities. Local municipalities and emergency services have been placed on alert to monitor conditions as they evolve.
