The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has relocated the headquarters of PromoTurismoFVG, the public agency responsible for tourism promotion, from Villa Chiozza to Trieste Airport, a move officials describe as both strategic and operational.
The decision, according to Sergio Emidio Bini, the regional councillor for productive activities and tourism, was intended to improve coordination between the tourism agency and the operator of the region’s main airport, while also streamlining relationships with suppliers and taking advantage of stronger transport links.
Speaking during a visit to the new offices, which have been operational since February, Mr. Bini said the relocation was designed to align promotional activities more closely with regional mobility infrastructure. The airport location, he noted, offers direct connections to the rest of Friuli Venezia Giulia through rail, road and public transport.
Officials also emphasized the impact on working conditions. The new headquarters occupies approximately 920 square meters spread over two floors and houses around 70 employees, primarily working in marketing and product development. Mr. Bini pointed to the functionality of the interior spaces and their accessibility as key advantages of the move.
The space was made available by Trieste Airport, reinforcing what regional authorities describe as a broader effort to integrate tourism promotion with transportation and logistics, positioning the airport not only as a point of arrival and departure, but also as an operational hub for regional development.
