Students in Trieste gathered in Piazza Sant’Antonio on Friday afternoon as part of the national student strike, joining demonstrations held across Italy. Organized by the Rete degli Studenti Medi and the Unione degli Universitari, the local rally was tied to the campaign “Non fermerete il vento,” which calls for greater attention to education funding, campus safety and student rights. Dozens of university students participated, holding signs and addressing passersby. Several students told InTrieste that they hoped the initiative would draw renewed attention to what they described as long-standing gaps in resources and support within the regional school system.
