The celebrated culinary event Ein Prosit returns to Udine this month with a showcase dedicated to the white wines of Friuli Venezia Giulia. From October 18 to 20, Via Mercatovecchio will host “Io sono Friuli Venezia Giulia – Blancs”, a large-scale tasting exhibition that highlights the region’s wine making and gastronomic excellence.

Organized by the Region through PromoTurismoFVG, in collaboration with the Tarvisiano Tourism Consortium, the event revives a format last seen in 2019. A modern, 900-square-meter pavilion will welcome around 70 local producers—from wineries to artisanal food makers—offering visitors an immersive experience that celebrates the quality and character of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s products.

Inside the striking transparent structure, visitors will be invited to taste wines, sample regional specialties, and meet the producers behind them. The design reuses the furnishings of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s award-winning Vinitaly 2025 stand, which recently earned the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2025 for its innovative concept, “The Power of Contrasts.” The installation, created by Udine-based design studio Visual Display under the direction of PromoTurismoFVG, was recognized for its ability to merge wine, culture, and territory into a unified sensory narrative.

At Ein Prosit, the same concept will be brought to life in the center of Udine, transforming Via Mercatovecchio into a temporary “wine piazza.” The structure will include an information point staffed with regional tourism representatives, along with panels and brochures that tell the stories of the featured producers and their craft.

Tickets for the tasting event cost €20 and can be purchased online or on-site. Each ticket includes a wristband granting full-day access to the exhibition, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The initiative is part of a broader effort by Friuli Venezia Giulia to promote its culinary identity and strengthen its reputation as one of Europe’s premier regions for white wine. Known for varieties such as Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Sauvignon Blanc, the region’s winemakers have earned international acclaim for their precision, balance, and expression of terroir.
