interview: Trieste councilor for territorial policies, Michele Babuder

On Monday evening, Piazza Puecher hosted “Piazza Sicurezza,” an event organized by Cgil Trieste with Spi Cgil and Silp Cgil to discuss urban regeneration and public safety. The initiative aimed to transform the neighborhood into a safer, more welcoming space for residents, including children and the elderly.

Opposition parties were represented, with speakers from the Democratic Party, Five Star Movement, Adesso Trieste, and Punto Franco. The center-right was largely absent, except for Michele Babuder, the city’s Councillor for Territorial Policies.

The event highlighted community engagement as a tool for revitalizing public spaces and promoting neighborhood safety in areas of Trieste often affected by crime.
