This Sunday, vintage car enthusiasts from Italy and beyond will gather in the border town of Lipizza for the 2nd MotoRaduno organized by the Club Amici della Topolino Trieste, a non-profit association dedicated to preserving and celebrating the iconic Fiat 500 “Topolino.” The event, which begins at 9:00 a.m., promises a full day of history, camaraderie, and scenic travel across the Slovenian countryside.
The itinerary will take participants on a panoramic route through Slovenia, culminating in a visit to Snežnik Castle (Grad Snežnik), a lesser-known but architecturally striking 13th-century castle nestled in the lush forests of Notranjska, at the foot of Mount Snežnik. Known for its romantic setting and preserved interiors, the castle is one of the few in the region that still retains its original furnishings.
The gathering point is the former border checkpoint at Lipizza, a symbolic location reflecting the cross-border spirit of the event. Registrations will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the convoy scheduled to depart at 9:30 a.m.
Organizers say the event is more than just a motor rally—it’s an opportunity to bring together generations of vintage car lovers, share in the cultural and natural heritage of the region, and keep alive a tradition that blends mechanics with memory.
The MotoRaduno highlights the enduring appeal of the Fiat Topolino, a compact car produced from the 1930s to the 1950s that remains a cherished symbol of Italian ingenuity and design. In recent years, regional clubs like Amici della Topolino have grown in popularity, drawing attention to classic vehicles and their place in European motoring history.
The route will feature several informal stops for participants to enjoy the landscape and connect with fellow enthusiasts. The event is open to the public and is expected to attract both drivers and spectators from across Friuli Venezia Giulia and neighboring Slovenia.
For many, the journey is as important as the destination. “It’s about sharing a passion—not just for cars, but for places, stories, and people,” said a club spokesperson.
As cross-border events gain traction in the region, this second edition of the MotoRaduno reinforces a sense of cultural continuity and shared identity—driven, quite literally, by history on wheels.
