The University of Trieste and the Trieste Police Headquarters have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at expanding collaboration in education, research and institutional outreach.
The protocol was signed by Rector Donata Vianelli and Trieste Police Chief Lilia Fredella, committing both institutions to develop joint initiatives while respecting their respective institutional roles and responsibilities.
Under the agreement, the State Police will contribute to advanced training programs, seminars and supplementary teaching modules led by police experts. The two institutions will also organize conferences and educational events for university faculty and students on topics related to public safety and policing.
The partnership includes professional development opportunities for police managers and staff, with courses focused on the legal and regulatory aspects of their work. Students interested in pursuing careers in the State Police will have access to dedicated information sessions, and the police force will participate in the university’s periodic Career Day events.
Additional measures include specialized assistance with administrative procedures for international students and faculty, joint research projects in areas of shared interest—particularly in science and technology—and the creation of curricular internships and research scholarships allowing University of Trieste students to work within the Trieste Police Headquarters.
The agreement also provides for collaborative research leading to academic publications, as well as joint initiatives in institutional communication, public information and community events.
