On Friday, July 4, 2025, the Prosecco Baseball Stadium near Trieste will host a festive open-air event celebrating American Independence Day. Organized by the Associazione Italo Americana FVG in partnership with Junior Alpina Baseball & Softball and the Wild Angels Trieste dance group, the evening offers a mix of sports, music, dance, and American flavors in a family-friendly setting.
Starting at 6 p.m., visitors can take part in a Home Run Slow Pitch Challenge led by Junior Alpina Baseball & Softball, providing an accessible introduction to the sport for all skill levels. Later in the evening, from 8 p.m., the Wild Angels Trieste will host a country line dancing session featuring a free beginner workshop, group dances, and performances accompanied by DJ Wolf, a well-known figure in Italy’s country music scene.
Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy traditional American food, including freshly prepared burgers and hot dogs, adding to the authentic cultural experience.
The event is free to attend and open to the public. A shuttle service will run between Piazza Oberdan in Trieste and the Prosecco Baseball Stadium, with advance booking required.

About the Organizers
The Associazione Italo Americana FVG, founded in 1961, promotes American culture and language through educational programs, film screenings, workshops, and cultural events in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Their American Corner Trieste is part of a global network supported by the U.S. Department of State, offering free resources and activities focused on the United States.
Junior Alpina Baseball & Softball is a longstanding local sports club active year-round with training and tournaments for all ages. Their senior team competes in Italy’s Serie A league.
Wild Angels Trieste, part of a nationwide country line dance organization, has promoted country dance and music in Italy for over two decades. DJ Wolf, a certified instructor and respected figure in the international country scene, will lead the evening’s musical program.
Looking Ahead
The event also anticipates the upcoming 250th anniversary of U.S. independence in 2026. The Associazione Italo Americana FVG will mark its own 65th year with a series of cultural and educational activities celebrating shared values of freedom, equality, and cross-cultural friendship.
