The regional government of Friuli Venezia Giulia has approved preliminary changes to regulations aimed at reducing fees for early childhood education services, a move intended to accelerate the distribution of financial aid to families and simplify administrative procedures.

The proposal, introduced by Alessia Rosolen, Regional Councillor for Education and Family, updates the criteria and procedures governing the allocation of the fund used to reduce costs for families whose children attend early education services. These services are provided by public institutions, accredited private providers, and organizations in the social-private sector.

“Our aim is to make the Region’s support for families more concrete and effective,” Rosolen said. “The changes will allow for faster processing times and ensure quicker delivery of contributions to families.”

Among the most notable updates is the inclusion of widowed parents in the category of applicants who will no longer be required to present an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator), streamlining access to benefits for a broader group of families.

According to Rosolen, the revisions are designed to promote universal access to early childhood education services by making the fee reduction process more efficient and inclusive. “This initiative is about easing both the financial burden on families and the operational workload for administrators,” she added.

The proposed regulation also includes a simplification of the procedures for obtaining benefits, with the goal of making the system easier to navigate for both applicants and service providers.

The draft resolution is expected to move forward through the next stages of the legislative process in the coming weeks.
