The annual “Romantic Night in the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy” will return on June 21, 2025, offering a full evening of music, cultural events, and local traditions across fifteen historic villages in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
The initiative, which coincides with the International Day of Music, was presented Monday at the regional headquarters in Udine by Sergio Emidio Bini, the regional councillor for Economic Development and Tourism. Bini emphasized the event’s role in promoting the unique charm of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s smaller communities.
“Each edition helps showcase the beauty, history, and tradition that make our region an increasingly popular destination,” Bini said. “The Regional Administration strongly supports this initiative and the teamwork that brings it to life.”
This year’s edition marks the full participation of all 15 regional villages included in the national network of “Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages,” with Spilimbergo and Cividale del Friuli joining for the first time. According to officials, their inclusion represents a broader effort to highlight the cultural heritage and social cohesion embedded in these communities.
“Our territory expresses a remarkable identity through its villages,” Bini added. “These are places where communities preserve and share stories, knowledge, and customs that offer travelers a truly unique experience.”
The 2025 program features live music, performances, guided tours, culinary tastings, and the traditional “midnight kiss,” a signature moment of the celebration that has become symbolic of the event’s romantic theme.
Organizers hope the initiative will continue to attract both locals and international visitors, offering a deeper look into Italy’s rural heartlands through an evening of shared cultural celebration.
