The 57th edition of Barcolana, the world’s largest sailing regatta, will take place from October 1 to 12, 2025, along the Adriatic coast of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Organized by the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano (SVBG) and presented by long-time partner Generali, this year’s event continues to expand its reach and offerings, with open registration beginning May 29.

The 2025 edition will feature a confirmed race course and an extensive calendar of events across a wider geography, including Trieste, Sistiana, Grado, Aquileia, Lignano Sabbiadoro, Cavazzo Carnico, and along the Isonzo River. The program aims to highlight not only the sea but also inland waterways such as rivers and lakes, broadening its appeal and accessibility.

Among the key features this year is the return of the Barcolana Prize Draw, which offers registered participants the chance to win a Honda Jazz Elegance e:HEV. Those who register by July 31 will receive two entries into the contest.

Barcolana also reintroduces its “Ticket To Race” initiative, allowing individual sailors to join the competition aboard boats provided by the organizing club. The format proved especially popular in 2024 for its inclusivity and ease of access.

Several satellite events also launch today, including registration openings for the Barcolana Solaris Adriatic Cup, the Barcolana Grado SUP Experience, and the expanded Barcolana FUN, a month-long series of activities hosted across Italy.

This year’s regatta will include two European championship races: Barcolana Parasailing with the Hansa 303 class, and the Este24 competition, further cementing the event’s international profile.

With the slogan “Where Passion Meets the Sea,” Barcolana57 promises to once again bring together thousands of sailing enthusiasts in a celebration of sport, community, and maritime culture.
