Liquorificio Italia, a family-owned spirits company operating in Trieste since 1996, announced expansion plans and new initiatives at an event held on February 3 at the Generali Convention Center in the Porto Vecchio district. The gathering featured remarks from Trieste’s mayor, Roberto Dipiazza, as well as Sandra Primiceri, vice president of Coselag, and the company’s owners, Pierandrea, Sara, and Simone Treglia. The event highlighted the company’s steady growth and outlined key developments, including a move to a larger production facility and a focus on workforce training.

Liquorificio Italia, which specializes in producing and distributing alcoholic beverages, plans to relocate from its current 1,000-square-meter facility on Via Malaspina to a 4,600-square-meter site on Via Ressel, in the Coselag industrial area. The move, scheduled for completion in 2025, is expected to provide additional space to support expanding operations.

“The company’s growth in recent years has been significant,” Pierandrea Treglia said. “This transition will allow us to scale our production, logistics, and distribution efforts while also launching an Academy dedicated to industry-specific training. We aim to offer education both to our clients and to those interested in deepening their expertise in the sector.”

A Growing Business

Liquorificio Italia currently serves approximately 130 clients across Italy, Europe, and beyond, collaborating on the production of nearly 600 brands. The company sources materials from around 60 suppliers, ranging from glass manufacturers and printing companies to packaging firms and ingredient providers. Over the past three years, it has recorded an average revenue increase of 24 percent. The workforce has expanded as well, growing from 20 to 27 employees in the past two years.

In September 2024, the company launched a new business division, ZeroCento Distribuzione, which focuses on distributing premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The initiative aims to curate high-quality offerings in the mixology sector, catering to select hospitality venues across the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.

Support from Local Officials

Mayor Dipiazza praised Liquorificio Italia’s trajectory, noting its contributions to the local economy. “It is always encouraging to see a company achieve strong production figures while continuing to set ambitious goals. The planned investment demonstrates a clear commitment to further growth in Trieste.”

Primiceri, the vice president of Coselag, emphasized the broader impact of the expansion, stating that the company is part of a growing network of businesses in the region that integrate production with research and innovation. She also highlighted that the new facility will repurpose a previously unused industrial building. “This space will not only support the company’s core operations but will also serve as a hub for knowledge and training, aligning economic and cultural development objectives,” she said.

Industry Discussions

Following the announcement, the event continued with a series of industry-focused panels. Topics included financial strategies for small businesses, innovations in sustainable packaging, and case studies on brand development. A session titled “Spirits Talk” featured discussions with figures in the beverage industry, including Lorenzo Purgatori of Palazzo, Gabriele Knez of Knez Spirits, and Marek Opold of Settebello.

With its planned relocation and the expansion of its distribution and training programs, Liquorificio Italia is positioning itself for continued growth in an increasingly competitive market. Whether these efforts will translate into broader industry influence remains to be seen, but company leadership remains confident in the path ahead.
