Insurance giant Generali plans to invest €74 million in employee training in 2025, an 18 percent increase from the previous year, as it seeks to strengthen skills across its global workforce and prepare future leaders.
At the center of the initiative is a new corporate academy designed to support the company’s strategic plan and provide ongoing professional development for its approximately 88,000 employees. The program will focus on technical expertise as well as customer relations, corporate culture, and leadership development.
“The goal is to create the talents who will become the group’s leaders tomorrow,” said Andrea Sironi, Generali’s chairperson.
The academy will incorporate artificial intelligence tools to deliver more personalized and interactive learning experiences at scale.
Once restoration work is completed, the program will also make use of space in Palazzo Carciotti, a landmark building in Trieste. The investment underscores the company’s continuing ties to the city where it was founded.
“Trieste is the city where we were born, where our legal headquarters are located, and where 2,000 people work,” Sironi said. He cited Generali’s recent investments in local academic institutions and the redevelopment of Palazzo Carciotti as evidence of the company’s long-term commitment to the city.
“We have our roots here,” he added.
