Trieste hosted Futura 2026 on Tuesday, 26 March, the annual conference of the Ambasciatori del Gusto, marking the association’s tenth anniversary. The event brought together leading figures from Italian gastronomy, public institutions, and international organizations to explore the future of food culture and its role in shaping national identity.

Held under the theme “Radici, Confini e Visioni” (Roots, Borders, and Visions), the conference was co-organized with the Municipality of Trieste and supported by PromoTurismoFVG and the regional initiative Io Sono Friuli Venezia Giulia. Trieste was chosen for its historic role as a cultural and geographic crossroads. Massimiliano Fedriga, president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, delivered the opening institutional address.

Notable attendees included association president Alessandro Gilmozzi, alongside chefs Antonia Klugmann, Cesare Battisti, Chicco Cerea, and Carlo Cracco. American actor Stanley Tucci was awarded the title of honorary associate, Ambassador of Taste, in recognition of his role in promoting Italian culinary culture to international audiences through television and public engagement.
